You ever been away from your mother for a long time and when you finally see her she gives you a big hug and squeezes you. When she hugs you a deep sigh of relief just leaves your body. Whatever you’ve been going through in life doesn’t really matter at that moment because the power of that hug from a loved one makes you focus on the love and positive energy that just came your way.
I’m a big believer of positive energy and search for it on a daily basis. Sometimes it might be hard to catch positive energy because of a lot of things. People around you in the workplace might be having a bad week, or maybe your significant other is not the person that you need them to be at that point and time. We all need help when it comes to finding positive energy in our everyday lives, and one of the best ways that I can find some positive energy is to give a loved one a hug.
The phrase “You never know what someone is going through” is one of the most important things I say to myself all the time. If someone says something unpleasant to me I used to get angry and return an unpleasant response right back. But at this stage in my life I have to assume that person is going through something that is making them act this way. Sometimes it’s best to give someone the benefit of the doubt and not just assume that their crazy.
Who are your loved one’s that you seek to turn your negative into a positive? I have a lot of people who I consider family that aren’t blood related. I give hugs on a daily basis because it is part of my therapy in my everyday life. Whether it’s a stranger or a best friend someone can always use a hug and one of the most important factors of giving hugs is that they are FREE. Who can you hug today and transfer some positive energy to? Whose day can you make better in your office or in your team setting?
